Hip hop artist Beanie Sigel, currently serving a two-year federal prison sentence for failing to pay $348K in taxes, was hit with an additional 2 years on Wednesday (March 6). The extra time is for a drug charge stemming from a traffic stop last August (2012). Codeine, marijuana and a handgun were discovered in the vehicle occupied by Beanie and a passenger. The gun charge was dropped in a deal for the guilty plea for the drugs. Beanie Sigel also turned 39 on Wednesday, the day he was sentenced. Not exactly how I would want to celebrate my birthday.
Last week, hip hop artist, Ja Rule was released from state prison on gun possession charges only to be rearrested by federal marshals to serve additional time for tax evasion!
Maybe things are the same for gangstas? Guns… tax evasions?
