An inner circle of gang members and correctional officers has been dismantled in a 
Baltimore correctional facility. All together, thirteen female correctional officers and 7 inmates and 5 others with gang affiliations have been charged with smuggling drugs, cellular phones and other contraband into the jail. The ring also involved sex between inmates and officers, four of the officers became pregnant.
The Black Guerrilla Family gang leader, Tavon White is alleged to also have lead the ring and impregnated one of the female officers twice, according to an indictment. Tavon White, awaiting trial for attempted murder, was heard boasting over wiretapped phone calls saying, “This is my jail… I make every final call in this jail.”
Over the past four years, 54 employees have been discharged from the Baltimore City Detention Center, according to Gary D. Maynard, secretary of the Maryland Department of Public Safety. As this story unfolds, WHIHH.com will keep you updated.
