There is something nostalgic about house parties, summer time block parties and the sound of HIP HOP. However, where would hip hop be with out the ICONS who paved the way for Rappers today? In an Industry were people are hopping to what is hip, ICONS are forgotten about often. Icons of Hip Hop needs recognition and homage. True Hip Hop heads can agree, we can not afford to forget about the ones who set trends, who broke barriers and who did it all for the love of HIP HOP. I have had the pleasure of interviewing some heavy hitters in hip hop. Icon such as LORD FINESSE, MASTA ACE, JAZ O, GRANDDADDY IU and many more. I must say all were very humble and receptive to sharing their experiences about hip hop and how the game has changed. We must continue to water the roots for the tree to grow and the branches to expand, so they too can be educated on how important ICONS of hip hop are. Many people often times think just because an artist isn’t seen or heard they are not relevant or doing anything productive with their careers. This is not the case, many have moved on to bigger things such as producing, television and running their own companies. So do you really want to know hip hop or do you want to just hop to what’s hip?
