Pharrell decided to let his highly anticipated album, GIRL, stream for free on iTunes, February 25, 2014. Although the album made its debut a week before the intended release date, it has already managed to stir up some controversy. However, this time, it does not seem the tracks on the album are the main reason behind the backlash. Instead, the album cover itself, has managed to have Twitter in an uproar.
The image on the album is that of Pharrell, accompanied by white and very light skin black women.
Although the singer, Pharrell, has won many hearts with his successful hit songs, “Get Lucky,” “Happy,” and “Blurred lines;” The lack of brown skin women on his album cover, has managed to overshadow the fact that this is Pharrell‘s first solo album in almost 8 years!
Do you think this is a legit reason to be upset? Or is this going too far? I guess everyone is NOT so happy after all.
