What’s up my WHIHH family. I fell ill for the past few weeks but with prayer and family I’m fully recovered to my old self. With that being said let me tell you all who I recently sat down and had a very inspirational interview with, Maddskills Records artist, Nimo and Sun-One. It was held in an antique style art gallery that housed African American art. The venue has been standing since 1876 and named The 14th Street Artist Community located in St. Louis CIty.
These two, Chicago raised gentlemen wanted to share with your girl what inspires them, what makes them different from other hip hop artists that are in the industry today and whether or not its a smart thing to stay indie or to sign with the big name record labels.
Before this interview I’d already been listening to Dame Dash’s latest blogs that he posts on youtube and he’s speaking some real ish. So, listening to Nimo and Sun-One definitely made me feel like I was listening to something with substanace and it wasn’t just two artist rambling about how good their lyrics are and how they’d kill anyone in the game. Nope, it was none of that.
Nimo and Sun-One previously had a publication here on What’s Hot In Hip Hop back in April 2014 that also premiered one of their videos to the single “Rocking Jew-els“. That article about them gives us more history of where the artists are from and what they’ve been through just trying to make it in the industry. Feel free to find that in our archives.
So, take your time and listen to these two motivated and dedicated young men talk about their fight to not give up and letting to world hear their music. And the best part is…..this is only part 1 to their 2 part interview.
IF ITS NOT HERE, ITS NOT HOT….THIS IS WHATS HOT IN HIP HOP.
